    Developing Standardised Training and Doctrine For The Nato Powers Forward Operating Bases

    The NATO Military Engineering Centre of Excellence (MILENG CoE) has, since its creation in 2009, been responsible for working to develop training , doctrine and standardisation agreements amongst the NATO powers in the area of Forward Operating Bases

    Moving beyond the challenges that nations face within their domestic Forward Operating Base efforts, the question of interoperability between allied nations FOB systems, doctrine and training is clearly a fundamental issue.

Renewable energy tech sought for forward operating bases

Last week the U.S. government demonstrated its latest intent to clean up the military’s fossil fuel reliance and move towards more renewable energy sources after the Navy announced that its last remaining Spruance-class warship, the USS Paul F. Foster, ran for 17 hours on a 50:50 mix of standard diesel and algae biofuel.
